University high school teacher and photographer wins multiple awards.
Robert Behm, Photographer CPP FP , The Photography instructor at University high school and owner of Valley Studio in the Spokane Valley, has been recognized by the Professional Photographers of Washington.
The PPW hosted their annual conference and print competition in Wenatchee, WA, April 4-8, 2008.
Rob Behm, instructor of Photography at University high school since 1994, was awarded the first place honors for a wedding album in 2008. Behm was the recipient of the Fuji Masterpiece award for a wedding album. The album was created for the wedding of a former U-High student, Ashley Runcorn, and her husband Joe Wells. The album features the wedding ceremony and reception, held at Beacon Hill event center in Spokane. The album was selected from over 270 professional entries, from across the state.
In addition, Behm was awarded the prestigious “Volunteer of the year award”, for his on-going efforts to bring education to both professionals and students of photography across the state of Washington.
Rob Behm has been a member of the Professional Photographers of Washington since 1983 and has owned and operated Valley Studio of Photography in Spokane Valley, WA since 1985.

Rob opened Valley Studio in 1985 after working as an assistant fashion photographer in Seattle, WA. He received a degree in Photography from Spokane Falls Community College, in 1983.
Rob is a member of the Professional Photographers of Washington, and the Professional Photographers of America. He has earned his Associate Fellow of Photography degree from the P.P. of W. in 1992, he was awarded his Fellow of Photography degree in 2002. Rob also holds the distinction of being a Certified Professional Photographer.
In the spring of 2001, Rob was the Convention Chairman for the state convention of the Professional Photographers of Washington. Rob held the office of President for the Professional Photographers of Washington in 2002-2003. Rob was the chairman of the PPW Fall conference held in October 2007, Gig Harbor, Washington.
In 2004 Rob was elected by his colleagues to represent Washington state on the governing council of the Professional Photographers of America. He is also a recipient of the prestigious PPA National Award. In January 2010 Rob was appointed Chairman of the PPA International Committee. This position will enable Rob to work with other photographers from around the world to advance the opportunities and profession of photography.
In addition to pursuing goals as a professional photographer, Rob is the Photography Instructor at University High School in the Central Valley School District of Spokane, WA. Rob holds a degree from Eastern Washington University’s college of business and industry as a career and technical educator in photography.
